Obituary

Mrs. Williamson the widow of Savannah Walker Williamson, died peacefully at her home on
Sunday, November 21. She was born on November 7, 1927 in the Huntersville Community to William Dawson
Crymes and Sarah Adelaide Day Crymes. She was the youngest of eleven children born to her parents. As a young
child she worshiped at Lane Chapel CME Church. According to Alma, she accepted Christ as her savior not at
church during revival but in thoughtful quiet solitude at her home. She had a deep commitment to church, family
and community. At Denmark CME, she served as the Church Secretary for many years and willingly served where
she was needed. As a member of the Neely Station Community she played a role in acquiring a fire station, a
community park and founded an organization with a charter of community service. Survivors of Mrs. Williamson
are six of her children, Savannah Williamson, Willie Reeves, Oburla Reaves, Vivian Somerville, Thenaus
Williamson, and Sylvia Smith; a grandson whom she raised, Tyrus Williamson; nineteen grandchildren; forty-one
great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. The family will receive
relatives and friends on Saturday, November 27 at Affordable Funerals and Cremation Services, 116 Allen Avenue
in Jackson. Visitation 11 am—5 pm and Family hour 5 pm to 6 pm.
